The GradeSense Philosophy
GradeSense was designed to help accelerate schools to the next generation in grading and report card standards. This includes the IRGS (International Reporting and Grading Standards). IRGS recognizes and supports such grading standards such as: IB (International Baccalaureate) and PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) among others. Reporting has changed over the years with newer and improved processes to communicate student progress and other pertinent information to parents and school administrators.
The Student Profile
The student profile was created to help determine individual student characteristics in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses more effectively. (View example) The profile helps teachers and school administrators determine the best possible educational path for the students. Gradesense utilizes the student profiles as a unique way of reporting those characteristics to the benefit of the parents, teachers and school administrators.
Student profiles include a profile comment followed by ten student characteristic descriptors. These descriptors can be customized to any profile query the school may require. The student profile explores student traits such as inquisitiveness, reasoning, compassion, sense of fairness, open-mindedness, thoughtfulness. etc.
GradeSense student profiles can be adapted to adhere to any learning environment where more emphasis is placed on human characteristics in the student reporting structure.
The Unit of Inquiry
The Unit of Inquiry is a method of reporting on the semester's concepts being taught plus the student's ability to absorb those concepts. (View example) Units of Inquiry can include marks, comment and concept descriptions providing highly detailed information to the parents. The Unit of Inquiry is fully customizable and can be displayed on reports in different combinations IE: Just a concept description, or, a concept description and student comment, or , just the concept description and marks making GradeSense a remarkably versatile tool for teachers and administrators.
GradeSense Evolution
GradeSense developed its application for modern educational techniques being implemented globally. GradeSense programmers recognized early in development, that in many cases there are no application packages available that reflect the style of grading that the schools required. As the new educational policy's are put into play, GradeSense is dedicated to establish a higher quality of education for all students under reduced budgets and an ever tightening economy. GradeSense truly gives teachers and administrators piece of mind during report card time.
